Hmmm...this is a little closer to the truth...

But this is all rather hee-hee, given that so far I've made a crimson pair and a blue/purple pair, and have lots of other odd, fluffy, camouflagey etc. yarns waiting in the wings.

Okay, I mean, I like to *pretend* to be goth, but really...

You like black sock yarn. You are goth. You don't accept any colors but black.

I am a sock yarn bratbaby

As I mentioned yesterday, I picked up 4 pairs' worth of sock yarn.

And then I bought some more today.

It's not an addiction - it's a lifestyle

So I casually sidled up to Knit-o-Matic today after chatting with Haley last night at the Knitting Olympics launch about the latest stuff in the store...and bought yarn for 4 more pairs of socks.

And this is after exercising restraint. Hoo boy.

In happier news, am past the heel on sock #2 of the Lamb's Pride Thujas. Gooooo me!

After all, the more socks I complete, the more socks I can start.

Pride and Angst

Hmh.

I'm knitting a pair of socks out of Lamb's Pride superwash, and it's bloody weird. I don't like it. The suggested needle gauge is 5 - 5.5 mm. I'm using 4, and it still seems too fine for the needles. It's stretchy and odd, and my tension is way off. Grump grump grump. Can't say as I'll be up for using it again - which is sad, 'cos it's soft enough for my cashmere-snob boyfriend and it comes in lovely colours. I'd rather use larger-gauge yarn and needles, but bring on the Jawoll, Opal and Fleece Artist!!!

I is Olympically official!

Awright!!

So I was too late for the jerseys, but I finally got around to joining Team Canada! Looking forward to the Friday opening ceremonies.

I'm all about the socks. Technically we're supposed to be casting on new projects, but I need some impetus to complete a few pairs (read: 3) - and that's not counting my growing pile of sock yarn. If I had enough sets of double-pointed needles, I'd be casting on like a maniac and gibbering away in a pile of just-started socks. When I start a full-on challenge project like a skirt or sweater, I want the leisure time in which to enjoy the process. It's more of a challenge to me to finish all the fabu projects I've gleefully begun. Hooray!
